Wallace boys start season 1-1

The Wallace Wildcats got their 2017 season underway last week with back-to-back games on Thursday and Friday.

Wauneta-Palisade

First up was a trip to Wauneta to take on the Wauneta-Palisade Broncos.

The Cats had their hands full as the Broncos came out to run and gun. With a deep bench, they were able to keep fresh players on the court as they regularly rotated five players in at a time.

Wallace was able to stay with Wa-Pa in the opening quarter as the teams exchanged baskets. Each of the Wildcat starters put points on the board to help them take a 17-15 lead at the end of the quarter.

The fast paced game however,  took its toll on the Cats in the second quarter. The Broncos were able to significantly increase their scoring while holding Wallace to just one basket and five free throws.
