After two tough games to start the season, the Wallace football team got its first win of the year last week, a 58-8 win over South Platte.

Wallace Head Coach Eric Miller said it was great for the guys to come out and play well.

The Wildcats stuck to the ground in the game and racked up 335 yards rushing.

“It should be a confidence and momentum booster.  We played a couple very good teams tight to start the year, just came out on the wrong end. We need to continue to understand it’s the little things you do, that set you up to be successful or not,” Miller said.

Wallace will take on Brady Thursday.

Miller said Brady (2-1) will be a very tough opponent with good team speed.

“We need to have focused practices on this short week and be ready to play a good football game,” he added

The game will be Wallace’s first in the D6-4 district.

Miller said the Wildcats  would like to set themselves up in a good position district wise.

“But, all the other teams would like to as well.  We need to be as prepared as possible for each opponent,” Miller said.
