Wallace girls take second, boys third at Paxton invite

The Wallace Wildcats competed at the Paxton Track Invite Friday, April 23, where both the boys and the girls teams earned a considerable number of medals and a high overall rank.

The meet was originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, however due to inclement weather the meet was rescheduled for later in the week.

Wallace’s boys team won 13 medals Friday, and took third place overall with 68 points. Sandhills Valley took first with 90 points, and Sutherland Public finished second with 82 points.

The girls brought home silver as a team with 86 points. The Lady Cats were defeated by Sutherland Public, who finished the day with 97 points.

The next meet for Wallace’s track competitors will be the RPAC meet in Paxton on Friday, April 30. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. CT.
