Wallace splits week with win and loss

Wallace got back in the swing of the basketball routine after the long break, by having back to back games last week. The 2018 part of the season kicked off Friday night when the Wildcats hosted Arthur County followed by a trip to Mullen on Saturday.
 ARTHUR COUNTY
The Cats looked like they were well rested and ready for some basketball in Friday’s game against Arthur County.
Ty Maline made it known early in the game that he was set to have a great night. He started out by draining a 3-ball and then followed that with a sweet drive in the lane. Before the quarter ended, he added another three pointer to go along with Micah Swedberg’s seven points, Blake Pelster’s four and Jared Sullivan’s two to give Wallace a 21-9 lead.
Sullivan took charge in the second quarter to help the Cats maintain their lead. He started things off by getting a steal and a bucket. After a Swedberg basket and another Maline trey, Sullivan added a put back and another basket off a steal. Tack on a couple Swedberg free throws and one from Pelster and the Wildcats took a 35-18 lead into half time.
Maline came out in the third quarter to repeat his first quarter performance. He started the quarter with a 3-pointer, drove the lane for the second basket and later he added another trey. Other Cats that contributed were Logan Rosentrater and Swedberg with five and Pelster with two.
