Wallace sweeps XC individual titles at DCS

Robertsons went 2-2 at the Dundy County Stratton Invite last week and their teammates stepped up to finish in the money, as well.

Senior Trey Robertson, who switched to cross country this year, won the boys’ race with a time of 10:59, over a minute better than second place finisher Gavin Gunderson of Cambridge, 12:10.

Junior Ryun Sheets finished 16th.

Sophomore Ashley Robertson won the girls’ race by 15 seconds with a time of 14:30.

The Wallace team put in a strong showing at the invite. Junior Dajana Garrison was third, 14:52, and sophomore Ryleigh Hanson placed fifth, 15:06. Cambridge runners placed second and fourth.

Up next

The Wildcats will head to the North Platte St. Pat’s Invite Thursday. Also at the meet will be Brady, South Platte and Sutherland.

Girls’ results—1. Ashley Robertson, 14:30, Wallace; 2. Brenna Deterding, 14:45, Cambridge; 3. Dajana Garrison, 14:52, Wallace; 4. Kori Koeppen, 14:58, Cambridge; 5. Ryleigh Hanson, 15:06, Wallace.
