Wallace takes Eustis/Farnam by 8 points

The Wallace Wildcats were back in action last Friday night when they hosted Eustis/Farnam. The Blue and White started the game firing on all cylinders and took a 20-9 lead in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Wallace could not get the ball to fall and they only put up two points in eight minutes. Eustis/Farnam was able to get seven points on the board to cut into Wallace’s lead. The halftime score stood at 22-16.

The game was very competitive in the second half with a lot more points being scored. The Wildcats would have a good run and look as if they might pull away but the Knights were hot from 3-point land and they kept the game close.

The scoring in the second half was very close. Wallace put up 13 points in the third quarter and Eustis/Farnam was right behind them with 11. In the final period, both teams scored 16 points which made the final score 51-43.

Freshman Kolton Hager led all scorers with a career-high 17 points, he also had six rebounds, one assist and four steals. Micah Swedberg had 12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, five steals and one blocked shot. Blake Pelster had eight points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal and Kaden Hager had six points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Tanner Finley also scored six points and had three rebounds, one assist, and one steal and Ethan Bowlin scored two points, grabbed two rebounds and had one steal.

Wallace will travel to Sutherland on Thursday, Dec. 13. The girl’s varsity will tip off at 5:30 p.m. CT in the new gym while the JV boys play in the old gym. Varsity boys will start at 7:30 p.m. in the new gym while the girls JV play in the old gym. 

The following week, Wallace will host Medicine Valley on Tuesday, Dec. 18 which will be followed by the Perkins County Holiday Tournament on Dec. 20-21.
