Wallace Wildcats 10-7 going into districts
The basketball season is winding down for Wallace, and the Wildcats made a couple of road trips for last week’s games. Thursday, Feb. 8 they traveled north to compete against the McPherson County Longhorns and Friday they headed south to battle with Hitchcock County.
The Thursday night match up got off to a slow start. There were a lot of trips up and down the court with no points going up on the board.
Even though Wallace wasn’t scoring a great deal, they appeared to be in the driver’s seat and controlling the game. By the time eight minutes had ticked off the clock, the Cats had a 12-4 lead.
The pace of the game picked up significantly in the second quarter as the numbers on the scoreboard changed frequently. Wallace hit some jump shots, got some goods looks inside and knocked down a couple of 3-balls. By the time half time rolled around, the Cats had extended their lead to 32-12.
