Wallace Wildcats take third in RPAC

Wallace continued RPAC conference tournament play last Tuesday when they traveled to Maxwell to compete against the top seeded Paxton Tigers.

The Wildcats got off to a great start, looking strong in the first quarter. Their first three baskets were from beyond the arch and they were looking good on defense as well. As the quarter came to an end, Wallace had an 11-9 lead.

Things didn’t go as well in the second quarter however, the Tiger defense made it difficult to get a good look at the outside shots and their height advantage made the inside game a challenge as well.

The Cats were only able to put up three points so Paxton took a 20-14 lead into halftime. To make things worse, Wallace lost starter Logan Rosentrater due to an ankle injury.

The Tigers started the third quarter with seven unanswered points.
