Wildcats girls place second in RPAC competition

The Wallace girls track team won three events and placed second at Thursday’s RPAC track championships, while the boys won two events.

Kendyl Flaming won both hurdles races and Ashley Robertson won the 3200 meter run with teammate Dajana Garrison finishing second.

Trey Robertson continued to excel, as well, breaking the 10 minute mark to win the 3200 and taking the 1600 title.

Wallace also got a second place finish from Kaley Sauser in the 1600 and third place finishes by Brooke Bryant in the triple jump. Kyler Flaming was third in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.

The 1600 meter relay, Mariana Aceves-Lopez, Garrison, Ryleigh Hanson and Flaming, and the 3200 meter relay, Sauser, Reagna Pelster, Eliana Robertson and Hanson, both finished third.

Each of Wallace’s boys in the 100, 200 and 400 had PRs. That included Masen Messersmith, Jorge Valadez, Ryun Sheets, Conner Kennicutt and Ivan Aceves.

Head Coach Danielle Snider also highlighted Messersmith’s fifth place finish in the 100 and Kendall McClintock’s PR and fifth place finish in the discus.

Up next

Select athletes attended the Best of the Midwest Tuesday in Sutherland. The top eight in the region were invited to participate in the finals-only event.

The Dave Blevens Invite will be Friday in Arnold.

Districts will be Wednesday in Cambridge. 

Also attending the D7 meet will be Arapahoe, Bertrand, Cambridge, Dundy County Stratton, Hitchcock County, Loomis, Maywood-Hayes Center, Medicine Valley, Southwest and Wauneta-Palisade.
