Wildcats win last regular season game

The Wallace Wildcats ended their regular season of basketball with a big win on their home court last Friday. The Cats were competing against Creek Valley, a team they played during the holiday tournament. Wallace was able to compete with the Storm in December but they came up two points short in that contest.

As the game got underway, it looked as if it might be another close game between the two teams. The Cats were down by a point at the end of the first quarter but they managed to take a four-point lead into halftime leading 27-24. It looked as if Wallace was gaining momentum as the game progressed.

Wallace took over in the second half and continued to build on their lead. They started the final period with a 45-35 lead and with a strong finish, they increased that lead. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the scoreboard read 62-49, a big win for the Wildcats.

Freshman Kolton Hager led the Cats with 27 points, five rebounds, one assist and three steals. Micah Swedberg contributed 13 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals. In the process of scoring the 13 points, Swedberg was able to make it to the 1,000-point benchmark.

Other Wildcats who contributed to the stats were Blake Pelster with nine points and three rebounds and Tanner Finley with nine points, five rebounds and one assist. Ethan Bowlin had two points, seven rebounds, one assist and two steals and Camden McConnell had two points, two rebounds, and three steals. Kaden Hager ended the game with three rebounds, six assists and one steal.
