The rebounding of a community

Due to a generous donation by Marvin Stumpf, the Grant City Park is home to the largest collection of musical playground equipment in the state of Nebraska. Attached to a concrete pad donated by Adams Lumber and CSC Construction, the ensemble is located at the north end of the park, near the picnic shelter. Stumpf said he wanted a way to honor the memory of Johnny May Pogue and Johnny Marvin Pogue, children of his late wife, Pearl Pogue Peterson Stumpf, while also doing something for the children of the Perkins County community. When Andrea Brueggeman, Grant City Council President, suggested the playground equipment, Stumpf thought it was a good fit. Pictured with Stumpf above, second from right, are, from left, Grant City Administrator Ed Dunn, Trevin Tuma, Bruggeman, and David Kempf. Tuma and Kempf are employees of Stumpf.
