Perkins County Schools will undergo a major change this year on how it transports rural students to school.
Perkins County High School seniors will finally get to celebrate their graduation with a real ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Pritchett Gym, beginning at 1 p.m.
Short of some miraculous solution, the days of the school bus pulling up to a student’s front door have come to an end at Perkins County Schools.
Why? A shortage of drivers.
“We’re going to do whatever we need to do to have kids in front of teachers, and teachers in front of kids. And, do it in a safe way.”
