This year’s corn crop is sizing up to be a good one. This summer’s heat has helped the crop explode over the last 20-30 days but farmers still need some cooperation from Mother Nature. A couple inches of rain would take pressure off the irrigators and save the dryland crop where lack of moisture is getting critical.

The Elsie Seniors held their monthly luncheon Tuesday, July 20th at the Elsie Legion Hall. Little Country Kitchen catered a meal of chicken strips, potato salad, baked beans and fruit salad. Connie Wilson provided a chocolate cake. Celebrating a July birthday was Sharon Day (above). Seniors in attendance were: Scott and Debbie Osler, Lyla Hahn, Delores Steinwart, Rosalie Curtis, Bill and Marian Robertson, John and Jane Culver, Steve and Susan Hanson, Dixie and Glen Colson. Suzi Leonard baked Mulberry muffins for everyone.
