Volunteers joined firemen from the area in helping sandbagging several homes in Kenton Heights Monday after a pair of rain storms Saturday and Sunday night dropped more than four inches, combined with five inches that fell last week.
When heavy rains fall northwest of Grant, Pheasant Run Golf Course and Kenton Heights usually bear the brunt of the runoff.
Pheasant Run Golf Course north of Grant was on the receiving end of heavy rain that flooded several areas on and around the golf course. Water continued to run Monday along a road by Lochview Avenue. The area around the golf course received more than five inches of rain Saturday, May 15. Hail also pounded the area with stones still visible Sunday. A similar amount of rain was reported north of Grainton.

Day by day, the new pool in Grant gets a little closer to be ready for an anticipated open date of Saturday, May 29. The pool is now being filled with water for the initial testing of equipment.
