Perkins County’s Lady Plainsmen suffered losses against Maxwell on Feb. 4 and South Platte on Feb. 8.
Perkins County’s boys basketball team got just the boost they needed as they head into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Four Plainsmen wrestlers came home with medals from the combined conference tournament of the SPVA and Western Trails conferences last Friday.
The week-long RPAC basketball tournament consumed the final week of January.
In their final game of the RPAC tournament, the Lady Cats faced Wauneta-Palisade’s Broncos. By halftime the score was close, 20-15 in Wallace’s favor, but the Lady Cats picked up their game, scoring another 31 points in the second half. Wauneta-Palisade scored just 22 additional points, leaving the game 51-37. Wallace’s record now stands 5-9 going into their game versus Brady on Tuesday, Feb. 4. On Friday, Feb 7 the Lady Cats will play Maxwell’s Wildcats, and on Tuesday, Feb. 11 they will face Southwest’s Roughriders. Above: Sophomore Mariah Gardner takes the ball up to the hoop.
