This corn field directly East of Grant took a beating in the storm that went through Perkins County last Thursday, June 24. Almost an inch of rain fell in roughly 30 minutes in the late afternoon, and brought with it hail that ranged from pea to golf ball sized. Several reports of damage to homes, vehicles, crops and property were reported throughout the area. Following the storm, some of the bigger remnants of hail in comparison to a quarter.

The Elsie Seniors met recently in June for their monthly luncheon provided by the Perkins County Senior Center. They enjoyed a meal of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit, biscuits and dessert. Celebrating a June birthday were; (pictured l-r)Marian Glunz, Karen Fuller, Dixie Colson. Also in attendance were: Carm Pelster, Sharon Day, Glen Colson, Bill Robertson, Connie Wilson, Rosalie Curtis, Deloris Steinwart, Dave and Tara Curtis, Mike and Peggy Lechman, Renea, Vivian and Charlie Crothers.
