State archery was held September 18 and 19 in Grand Island at the Heartland Shooting Park.
Pheasant Run Golf Course held its annual Ryder Cup tournament in late August. The tournament pits the two teams against each other in three different nine-hole matches—best ball, alternating shot and singles. This year, the Red Team prevailed with John Long serving as captain. There was a Hay bale decorating contest held during the Wallace Fall Festival. This is the 1st place winner, a Scarecrow decorated by Kim Finley.
The Elsie/Madrid Community Blood Drive that was held Friday September 24 was a success with two donors reaching their gallon accomplishments.
The Scarlet Chapeau ladies had lunch at Ole’s Steakhouse in Paxton Friday, Sept. 17.
