The Lady Plainsmen kicked off their season with a win over Potter-Dix and a loss to Hershey last week. They played games two days in a row: an away game versus Hershey on Thursday, Dec.
The Wallace Wildcats started their basketball season with victories in their first two games of the year. At their opening game Thursday, Dec. 3, they hosted Wauneta-Palisade and after a quick lead starting in the first quarter, the Wildcats gained a victory, 61-41. Junior Camden McConnell was the top scorer of the game with 23 points. They then played an away game against Maywood/Hayes Center on Friday, Dec. 4. The Wildcats defeated the Wolves 53-42, making their record 2-0. Junior Kolton Hager scored 19 points, making him the top scorer in Friday’s game.
The Wallace girls basketball team kicked off their season with a home game against Wauneta-Palisade on Thursday, Dec. 3. The Lady Cats fell to Broncos, 62-47 in the end, but junior Mariah Gardner was the top scorer of both teams with 21 points. Their next game was at Maywood/Hayes Center on Friday, Dec. 4. They unfortunately lost 40-26 to the Wolves. Gardner was again the top scorer for the Lady Cats with 13 points. Perkins County Schools updated their protocols for attendance at basketball and wrestling events.
Last week, each participant was allowed just two immediate family members.
