Plainsmen finish fifth in SPVA

After falling to the eventual  SPVA champion in the first round of the SPVA tournament, The Perkins County Plainsmen came back Saturday to defeat the Sutherland Sailors to finish fifth.

Jackson Wykert of Grant and his family’s horse Blaze were recognized by the National High School Rodeo Association as January’s Jr. High Professional’s Choice Equine Athlete of the Month.

Seniors Dani Burge and Rylee Huff fight off Chase County’s defense so Burge can take a shot after catching a rebound. Burge had the most rebounds caught in the game against Paxton with 10 rebounds, and the second most against Wauneta-Palisade with five.

Perkins County faces Hershey in first game of SPVA tournament

After a victory over Paxton last Tuesday, the Lady Plainsmen suffered losses against both Chase County and Wauneta-Palisade over the weekend.
