In their final game of the RPAC tournament, the Lady Cats faced Wauneta-Palisade’s Broncos. By halftime the score was close, 20-15 in Wallace’s favor, but the Lady Cats picked up their game, scoring another 31 points in the second half. Wauneta-Palisade scored just 22 additional points, leaving the game 51-37. Wallace’s record now stands 5-9 going into their game versus Brady on Tuesday, Feb. 4. On Friday, Feb 7 the Lady Cats will play Maxwell’s Wildcats, and on Tuesday, Feb. 11 they will face Southwest’s Roughriders. Above: Sophomore Mariah Gardner takes the ball up to the hoop. Gardner was the top scorer for the Lady Cats against Wauneta-Palisade. She scored 24 points, and sank the only two three-pointers of the game from either team.
Junior Brandon Knoles ran his record in the 225 class to 36-11 with five pins during a dual at Kearney Catholic Friday and the Doniphan-Trumbell invite Saturday.
Perkins County’s venture into northeast Colorado for a pair of games left the Plainsmen still looking for wins.
The Lady Plainsmen suffered two losses last week against Holyoke on Tuesday and Sedgwick County on Thursday.
