The Lady Cats started last week with a victory over Brady’s Eagles on Tuesday, Feb. 4. They gained their lead at the beginning of the game and held on to it until the end, when they won 56-48. Karlie Finley was the top scorer against the Eagles with 14 points, and Mariah Gardner was right behind her with 13 points. Wallace then went on to play Maxwell, but despite their efforts they could not catch the opposing Wildcats. Maxwell defeated Wallace’s girls, 49-39. Gardner scored the most points of any player in the game with 18. The Lady Cats played Southwest in a home game on Tuesday night and will travel to Trenton to face Hitchcock County on Feb. 14. Sub-districts begin on Monday, Feb. 17 in North Platte. Sub-districts will continue on Feb. 18 and 20. Other teams in attendance for D2-10 are Brady, Medicine Valley, Paxton and Wauneta-Palisade.
