Santa made an appearance in Grant last Saturday when he stopped by Hatch’s Super Foods to help with the annual chamber greenback drawing. The GVFD truck then paraded St. Nick up and down Central Avenue before taking him to his final destination, “A Jolly Little Place” where children patiently waited their turn to visit with him.
Local
Saturday, Dec. 12, Santa, sporting a Nebraska Huskers face bandana, made a stop in Elsie, this year for a “drive through” visit with kids. Parents drove up in front of the fire station where Santa’s helpers had set up a bench and decorations for Santa. Parents stopped, rolled down the passenger window, and the children had an opportunity to talk to Santa. Many shared a wish list for Christmas. Santa then gave them a treat bag through the window. Santa commented that he loves stopping in Nebraska because his Reindeer fly faster after having some good Nebraska corn. The Elsie Community Development Organization (ECDO) sponsored Santa’s visit and provided the treat bags. The Elsie Fire Department helped a grea deal with the day as well. Above, Santa visits with Rhea Condon through the car window, making the visit safe for all.
