Thursday, Feb. 11, Perkins County’s high school quiz bowl team, coached by Deanne Bishop, kicked off their season by hosting the Perkins County Quiz Bowl Invite. Four teams competed: Perkins County, Ogallala, South Platte and Dundy County Stratton. Each team played the other twice for a total of six matches. Perkins County went 4-2 at the meet and earned first place honors. They defeated South Platte once, Ogallala once and Dundy County Stratton twice. Perkins County and South Platte tied at 4-2, and in head-to-head match-ups, meaning they went 1-1 against each other. Perkins County outscored South Platte 195-115, breaking the tie and giving Perkins County first place honors. Next, the team plans to participate in the Hershey Invite March 9, and will host the SPVA Conference Tournament March 16. Trout prove perfect catch for natural resource education

Seth Burge’s Intro to Agriculture classes have been participating in the Nebraska Trout in the Classroom Project by raising trout from eggs as part of their curriculum.
