Though the season didn’t end as the team might have hoped, the Plainsmen golfers wrapped up with another season of experience and an eighth place finish at districts on Monday, May 17.
Colton Pouk, shown here in the 1,600, qualified in both the 800, with a second place finish, and a first place finish in the 1,600.
Freshman Kailee Potts will make her first appearance at the state track meet, finishing second in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.

Kendyl Flaming took first in the 100 meter hurdles to punch her ticket to Omaha this week.
Trey Robertson was a double gold winner at the D-8 district, winning both the 1,600 and 3,200.
Mariah Gardner was also a double gold winner at districts, winning the 1,600 and 3,200.
Perkins County and Wallace track teams will be represented this week at the NSAA state track meet set for Omaha’s Burke Stadium.
Senior Hannah Kempf runs in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays for the girls’ team.
Senior Irvin Reyes finished sixth in the 100 meters at DCS.
Junior Erik Snyder turned in a personal best in the 400 at the DCS meet to finish fifth.
Senior Rylee Huff hit the 30-foot mark to finish sixth in the triple jump at DCS.
Where has the track season gone? With inclement weather affecting the first several weeks of the season, it’s hard to believe it’s time for district track.
As the season nears the end, the Plainsmen have two more invites under their belts and they look ahead to their final regular meet in Ogallala this week.
Plans are coming together for the Midwest Elite College Showcase Tournaments at Perkins County Schools May 29-30.
